Restaurant Review: The California Boulevard, Gurgaon

Food January 15, 2016

The California Boulevard is situated in Sector-29, Gurgaon, a high-end restaurant with oozing sexiness & class plus a lot of hot Hollywood romance. The restaurant offers a potpourri of food, fashion, music, glamour & lifestyle and 300 delicacies to eat of world cuisines across 30 countries. The decor is all taken & adapted from the American Hollywood & vintage fashion world with the wall of celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Johnny Depp all in black like a picturesque bay, the surfers gallery with the California surfer boards, the golden lit Beverly Hills wall and waterfall along with a Harley Davidson motorcycle outside plus the unique San Francisco tram and the music from the yesteryear’s motion pictures.

They also have regal cinema set-up playing the vintage old classic movies famous from the black & white era like Sabrina, Camille, The Bishop’s Wife, It’s a Wonderful life etc. They even have names of Hollywood celebrities written in stars on the floor. The interiors are done in black, gold & red with a classy glass & wood staircase that we see in Hollywood movies. There are velvet sofas & soft Rexene sofas in camel colour. The restaurant has a total of 110 seating area.

Mesé, for amazing Bags and jewellery

Fashion January 14, 2016

To me, accessorizing is the most fun part of an outfit. While I don’t think you can rely on accessories to make a dress that isn’t working work, I do love jewellery and handbags more than anything –Anna Kendrich

We can’t agree more so when we were invited by Mesé for a bloggers meet at Olive Bar & Kitchen, we couldn’t resist ourselves. Bags in various shapes & hues, we could see them all. Totes, Satchels, Evening Bags, Party Bags, Clutches, wallets, they had everything in colour pattern of reds, neutrals, purples, blues, bronzes, black & white. The best part was that each item was so different from the other. I was almost in love with the products and was making a list items I wanna purchase once I reach home. Oh! How can I not mention the amazing affects on the bags – Basket Weave, Districh, Studs, Laser Cuts etc which made the bags look great!

Shopping on Trivenisarees.com

Fashion January 11, 2016

Shopping for sarees online wasn’t what I had done before. Even when I got married I did my majority shopping online due to lack of time which primarily consisted of clutches, shoes, honeymoon dresses etc but could not risk buying my trousseau online. I recently stumbled upon trivenisarees.com, an E-commerce portal for amazing ethnic shopping. Set up in 2011, the website is a one-stop solution for a wide range of ethnic collection – salwar suits, lehenga cholis, lehenga sarees, kurtis, jewellery, cotton & silk sarees. Triveni is actually a 30 year old saree manufacturer based out of Surat, India and now offers a wide variety of ethnic wear and lives upto its heritage.

Barcelos Flame Grilled Chicken

Food January 9, 2016

Barcelos made quite a buzz when it entered the Indian market. Team ChicLifeByte did tell you about its black, red & white burger and also their boozy shakes. We were recently invited for a tasting session of the flame grilled chicken, one of their core product. Initially, I thought this was a new product but on reaching the restaurant located in the middle lane of Khan Market, I read the menu and realized that it’s already a part of the menu.

Asus Zenpad 7.0 Review

Lifestyle January 8, 2016

What does one need for blogging? Yes, you guessed it right! A camera (for clicking great pictures), a phone (for communication) & a notebook (for taking down notes).

When I got all of them on the same device, my happiness knew no bounds. Yes, that device is the Asus ZenPad 7.0. Its big screen is what makes my blogging so easy. I can easily write in it and start my blogs then and there. So this also makes it eco-friendly as I bid goodbye to the papers where I used to jot down these notes. And with 8GB internal storage alongside expandable storage, I don’t have to worry about the storage space also.

Peruvian Food Festival at Hyatt Regency, Delhi

Food January 7, 2016

Being a food blogger, it gives me immense pleasure to bring you updates about world cuisines. Team ChicLifeByte was recently invited to Peruvian Gastronomic Festival by Chef Bruno Andreas Santa Cruz at Hyatt Regency, Delhi. Peruvian Food Festival was done in association with the Embassy of Republic of Peru. Our research on Peru showcased a vivid and lively picture of the place based out of South America which made me quite enthusiastic on trying out the food and meeting Chef Bruno in person. Contrary to India, Peru food is quite simple. Main course is a piece of protein (chicken/meat), potatoes and rice. The food actually has an influence from Spain, Chinese, Japanese and Italy.

Team ChicLifeByte’s day at Lavaash by Saby

Food January 4, 2016

We have always admired Chef Sabyasachi Gorai (Popularly known as Chef Saby) who hails from Asanol and resides in New Delhi. A name behind the menu of a lot of amazing places – Olive, Lap, Love Hotel and recipient of a lot of awards. So when Team ChicLifeByte got to know about ‘Lavaash by Saby’, we had to review it. Our research said, it is Armenian cuisine and we were curious to know more about it. We contacted Chef Saby who was sweet enough to invite us over to grab the taste of the cuisine. As we made our entry to the grand property, we were mesmerized by the interiors of the place. Every element had different colours of Peacock. Curious to know why? Because Peacock is the national bird of Armenia. Different elements at the restaurant were carefully put up to give the customers a nice vibe – elegant golden era lampshades, windchime with colourful birds, Peacock motifs on laser cut outs at the entrance, Bright tiles, colourful walls along with a beautiful terrace with a view of Qutub Minar. One thing we particularly liked was the upholstery of the chairs which had colourful patterns and prints which made the restaurant more lively. The mustard yellow wall added a subtle touch while the blue one gave a cool look. A big thumbs up to Svabhu and Viplab for doing such a fabulous job. Though Chef Saby and Chef Megha had put together a mood board for inspiration. Team Chiclifebye spent about half a day at the place as we did some outfit posts there – Trendy Divva which can be viewed here, FREECULTR and Triveni Sarees which will be posted soon. The beautiful interiors and exteriors along with the helpful staff made our shoot quite smooth.
