Team ChicLifeByte was recently invited for the Christmas celebrations at Hyatt Regency, Gurgaon for their Tree Lightening Ceremony. As I entered the beautifully done up hotel, I met cute Simmi Sood, the PR Manager of Hyatt Regency, Gurgaon who was dressed in white, happy & smiling. It is always a pleasure to meet people who instantly lift up your mood with their bright smiles.

As I entered, I saw a huge 25 ft. tall unique Christmas tree in the lobby. What’s special about the Christmas tree is that it is made out of 3000 discarded CD’s which have been collected from several departments of the hotel & also contributions from conscientious guests who care about the environment. Fashioned out of about 3000 CDs, this special tree is a strong symbol of the hotel’s motto of managing e-waste and also adhering to the principle of ‘Reuse, Reduce and Recycle.’
It was yet another lazy weekend, when Team ChicLifeByte was invited to review a home solution showroom and I was glad, that now I can escape and have some fun.
Although, I have been doing this for so many years, but I still feel that every store has something unique which makes it different from other stores. However, this time it was slightly different as it was actually something which we only think of while making and refurbishing our house.

With this onset of the winter season and my desire to taste the lovely milkshakes, I went to Barcelos, Khan Market recently to try their newly launched shakes.
To begin with, the first thing that struck me was the different varieties and blends of shakes they had on their menu. They even have some boozy shakes (yes alcoholic ones) on the menu.

We recently got an invitation for a book launch. Any guesses on who wrote the book? Yes, you guessed it right, our very own bubbly VJ (that’s the first thing that comes to my mind about her). An Economics graduate who studied fashion design, a dancer, model, VJ, she has done it all and now adorns another feather in her cap as she turns author with her debut book ‘From My Kitchen To Yours’. You know what, she claims to have started cooking out of desperation as she didn’t want her cute kids to say “mujhe mere baap ke khane se pyaar hain” (Honestly, that’s something that even I dread – my husband is a great cook and I don’t even know the a, b, c of cooking).
There is a little secret that I would like to tell you. Every year when millions of Indians are happy about the Festival of Lights it’s one of the most dreadful time for me. Though I love the festivities, the lights, sweets etc. but there is one thing which worries me- pollution. While most of us burst crackers, and the light instantly brightens up our faces but at the same time also leaves our lungs in a bad shape.
