Restaurant Review: Garam Dharam, Connaught Place

Food December 22, 2015

Today, I’ll be reviewing Garam Dharam, an exciting & breathtaking venture of Mickey Mehta & Umang Tiwari inspired by veteran actor Dharmendra which I am sure you all must be aware of.

The ambience is quirky & the decor be it the Veeru bikes or truck or Horn OK slogan, the Dream girl banner, his pictures, his era, his movies, his stardom all have been combined together to make this Dhaba Te Theka called Garam Dharam. We could even hear Dharmendra’s songs which added a touch of romance (yes, the Dharmendra classics).

Travelogue to Jim Corbett (Day 2)

Food, Travel December 21, 2015

So, here we are on our fun filled travelogue with updates of our adventures at Corbett Blue Sky Resort in Jim Corbett. If you missed out on Day 1, you can read it here. Day 2 started with a stroll in the green lawns and our morning cup of tea. The pleasant weather and fresh air made our morning great. It felt heavenly walking on the slightly wet grass. What a wonderful start of the day!! We also had our morning tea and sandwiches in the lawn. Having our morning tea in greenery was a different and nice experience. Afterall we Delhi wallas rarely ever see such greenery. The veg sandwiches served with the tea were nice and soft with a filling of cucumber and tomato along with butter. The chai had elaichi in it and smelled wonderful.

Christmas celebrations at Hamleys

Lifestyle December 20, 2015

I could read the wishlist twinkling in the eyes of my son Siddhant when I told him that we have to visit Hamleys to check out the Christmas special activities. The preparation of wishlist goes the entire month of Christmas. On the very day of Christmas, kids are surprised with their favourite toys making them believe in the long lived tradition of a gift from Santa Claus.

The area outside Hamleys was beautifully decorated with a big Santa Claus and Christmas theme making it picture perfect. It surely had a magnetic effect which attracted kids as well as adults to the store. The spirit of Christmas was apparent everywhere.

Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in cream by BBlunt (Review)

Beauty December 19, 2015

Hey girls, now it’s time to shine with the new Climate Control Anti-Frizz Leave-in Cream by BBlunt. It comes in a sleek black bottle with a pump-up nozzle and when I opened the black bottle to see what was inside, the velvety white liquid smelt so luxurious like a hair perfume. After falling in love with the fragrance, I thought it was perfect for styling my damaged, dry & rough hair with the frizz in my split ends concealed & my hair to feel great, lovely & smell lovely too.

Imly, the 250 ft. long food train

Food December 18, 2015

Imly junction, the vegetarian food train that is when you take a trip down the train. Now let’s get started with Varun Puri’s & Vivek Bhargava’s imlyicious delicious vegetarian train journey which is a yet another dream concept called Imly. I loved the logo & the Imly drawing outside the huge 250 ft. long food train full of sweet surprises & street food at Rajendra Place specially made & designed by Varun Puri. It has a unique & chapata concept of street food of India. His dream & nostalgia came alive of following culinary traditions & habits of every country of India- the train journeys & the delicious delicacies being made available that one is born up eating the street food. I saw the glasses & plates beaming with colourful hues and the window day light & the decor that I loved with all the lovely colours on the table and the interiors done so aesthetically… so warm & welcoming, coming from the inventor & creator of a lovely idea that is direct from his heart & soul i.e. Imly. So lets see what the brainchild of Varun Puri has to offer for us food addicts.

Corbett Blue Sky Resort: A perfect getaway

Travel December 17, 2015

This autumn, rather than doing the usual which is eating, shopping and sleeping , I decided to do something different. Though, I would still be doing the above mentioned things but at a different location. I decided to visit Jim Corbett to see some wildlife and meet our friends – Deers, Tigers, Elephants, Leopards etc.

I took help from our friendly search engine Google and decided on Corbett Blue Sky Resort by Orawar Hotels for my lodging requirements. There were so many interesting things that I wanted to share with you so I have divided this post in 2 Parts. So here goes my travelogue for Day 1.

Mystery in Mystery Rooms

Lifestyle December 15, 2015

All those hooked on to ’Escape the room’ online games should leave their laptops and mobile phones right now. No No Fret not! There is no virus in that game but what if we tell you, you can experience this game LIVE!! Surprised? Yes, that’s what Team ChicLifeByte recently experienced. Mystery Rooms located at Rajouri Garden and Gurgaon is the live version of Escape the Room game. Still don’t believe us? So head to this wonderful place where you can play 4 interesting games live – Hurt Locker, Lock Out, Cabin in the Woods and Abduction. The games have been written in the order of difficulty and with each game the level of difficulty increases. We started with Level 2 which was Lock Out. The 4 of us were locked in a prison for an hour and we had to free ourselves with the help of interesting clues which we had to solve. The biggest clue being “Look everywhere, even the smallest of thing could help you free yourself”. But one really needs to be attentive and think Out of the Box. Tough, a taskmaster will give you hints but it is you and your team who need to solve the clues or riddles. The team could be between 2 to 8 people in the age group of 10 to 77 and does not require any physical force.
