Matching Michael Kors for Him & Her

Fashion July 20, 2016

When a couple’s been together long enough (or when they’re so new they’re totally engrossed in each other and notice every minute detail) coordination comes naturally. Whether it’s in the way you walk or talk, your reactions, your expressions,or your styles, you fall into a natural rhythm with your significant other –and the world of high fashion couldn’t be happier for you! As a celebration of romance, ‘His & Her’ styles have become a great way to show off your love.

Speaking of matching styles, it’s no secret that ‘twinning’ is all the rage these days. But I say why limit the trend to clothes, shoes and accessories? Let’s level up the game and introduce a dose of high-end high fashion watches to the mix and see what happens! I’ve got my money on Michael Kors watches to create a gorgeous lovechild (pun not intended, no pressure!) of high fashion and fine watchmaking.

What could be cuter than a couple showing off their romance through a coordinated pair of luxury watches? They add a luxurious lustrous quality to a couple’s already effervescent style and love. Of course, a lot of luxury brands actually make his & her styles already, butI think its more fun to keep the concept a little more open-ended and go in for matching yet contrasting models. Keeps the style from looking too cheesy and boring. Contrasting timepieces allow a little bit of breathing room for your personal styles, which is an absolute must for the success of any relationship, wouldn’t you agree?

AK Clinics: A hub for beauty and hair treatments

Beauty July 17, 2016

All of us love to look good…but none of us are born perfect! Like our vehicles need denting painting, so do we!

It was time for my facial and this time I thought of ditching my normal routine salon and thought of trying AK Clinics, India’s Leading Cosmetic Surgery Clinics. AK Clinics was founded with the goal of transformation of looks of the entire human race. The purpose of existence of AK Clinics is to provide excellent treatments at an affordable cost. I thought why not give it a try! So I booked an appointment for skin polishing and headed to their clinic at Greater Kailash. I made my way to the clinic which had soothing interiors in the colour theme of brown and mustard and was warmly greeted by Ridhi who has been associated with the clinic for the last seven years. I sat in their comfortable waiting lounge for a few minutes after which I was taken to the facial room.

Summer menu at Lodi- The Garden Restaurant

Food July 17, 2016

I knew that I was going to have a good experience when I saw the invite from Lodi – The Garden Restaurant in my inbox to come and savour their latest summer menu but it turned out to be an even better experience than my expectations.

The restaurant itself is designed in a way that removes you from the hustle-bustle of the city, despite being located right in the middle of it. It starts from the meandering path that takes you to the main building. On the left of the path runs the Lodi garden with its magnificent greenery while on the left you see tables laid out for the ones who prefer to sit under the sky.

Teddy Boy – An ode to 1950s Britain

Food July 16, 2016

Teddy Boy– a gastropub inspired from British subculture – is an ode to the classy pubs of 1950s that were extremely popular among the youth of Britain. Teddy boy (or Ted) was the name given to any young man of this subculture that was characterised by their Edwardian dressing sense (normally drape jackets, drainpipe trousers, a brocade waistcoat, and a narrow tie, with their hair neatly done up, usually in the form of a quiff) and a liking for rock-and-roll music.

The interiors, the menu, and the theme of the restaurant are all dedicated to the Teddy boy subculture. Proof of this are the big British flag on the right hand side wall as you enter and vintage pictures of Teddy boys on the menu. The interiors of the Pub have been done up quite stylishly, the plain brick walls creating a laidback atmosphere and big couches providing comfort for seating. Even the lighting, which uses dim tungsten bulbs adds to this relaxed feeling. We also noticed a large wall clock and wall mountings of antlers (not sure if they were real). The exceptionally high ceiling also lends a royal, rich feel.

Close to something looking like a tree house, Mumbai Matinee takes a Bollywood lover through her favourite tales

Food July 13, 2016

After a hectic day and work, I found myself a secret gem, Mumbai Matinee. This is a paradise for Bollywood addicts, which I proudly am. Located near the powerhouse in Shahpur Jat, this is a complete tree house café (just not in wood). You climb up a flight of stairs in a mesh decorated with those 90’s audio cassettes, that ofcourse all of us had at some time and loved playing with them. I started going back to my childhood memory lane from the entry itself. These audio cassettes reminded me of rolling them back with a pencil and the happiness it gave.

Restaurant Review: Depot 29, Safardjung Enclave

Food July 12, 2016

Located above HDFC Bank in the quaint little B6 market and spread over 3 floors, Depot 29, a restaurant with a unique Tex-Mex menu, derives its name from the PIN code of the area it is situated in, Safdarjung Enclave. We exited the lift on level 3 and I was instantly taken in by the wonderfully done interiors. This floor has a kitchen that is right in the middle of the seating area but care has been taken to separate the two using toughened glass. During the entire time that we were seated there, we were not disturbed by any unnecessary noise or smell from the kitchen – a testimony to the smart planning of the owners.

Crudo Juicery: This is where I found my perfect thirst quencher!

Food July 11, 2016

It’s the era of health and fitness, and we don’t really want to have aerated drinks, but even if we say goodbye to them, do we really have options? Yes, we do have various drinks available in tetra packs and bottles but most of them are loaded with extra sugar and preservatives, Do we really want to consume them? Then the best option is fruit juices available at various stalls but the big question us how hygienic are those?

I recently found my alternative at Crudo Juicery in Galleria Market, Gurgaon which opened just 4 weeks back by Amit Sahni, a health & fitness enthusiast in his mid 30’s who is back after 18 years from Australia. He comes from the hospitality industry and has always been a foodie. To find the right alternative in India, he took countless trips to numerous big and small food joint in and around Gurgaon, all in vain. He finally decided to nurture his dream- a quest to find “healthy” delicious & mouth-wateringly scrumptious food. And hence was born Crudo Juicery.
