Sometimes all you need is a quick escape from the hustle of city life, and for us, Karma Lakelands proved to be just that— an oasis of calm, luxury, and unforgettable family moments, all wrapped in the lap of nature. We recently celebrated my brother’s birthday with a staycation at this eco-luxury resort, and what a beautiful experience it turned out to be!

Located just 45 minutes from Delhi International Airport and around 25 minutes from Gurgaon city centre, Karma Lakelands felt like stepping into a different world altogether. Despite being so close to home, the moment we entered the gates, it felt like we were a million miles away from chaos.

The first thing we noticed? The sheer size of the property — spread across 270 acres of lush greenery. And the air felt fresh, light, and so different from the polluted buzz of Delhi NCR. Our journey began at Klub Karma, the central hub for check-ins and most facilities.

As we walked into the vibrant and colourful lobby, we were greeted by the warm team with a refreshing welcome drink and a traditional tilak. The bright interiors, calming music, and serene vibes instantly put us at ease. It felt like we were about to begin a special journey, and we were not wrong.

We had booked their Karma Cottages, and the buggy ride to our accommodation added a fun touch to the experience. The cottages are beautifully designed – a perfect mix of royalty and modern comfort, spread over a cozy yet luxurious 350 sq. ft.

Inside, the room had elegant interiors, plush linens, and all modern amenities you’d expect in a luxury stay. What also stood out to me were the glass bottles instead of plastic — a small detail that reflects their strong focus on sustainability.

The bathroom was huge, with premium fittings and all the essentials thoughtfully arranged. You could tell that comfort was at the heart of every design element.

After settling in, we called for a buggy to take us to AK’s Cocktail Bar for lunch. The interiors here are super quirky and artsy — a perfect blend of elegance and fun. We were also very excited to try out their ongoing Watermelon Fest.

Since it was a hot summer afternoon, the watermelon-themed menu was just what we needed. From refreshing mocktails served in actual watermelons to desi-style drinks like Watermelon Shikanji and Kombucha, each sip was a burst of freshness. For cocktail lovers, there were plenty of creative watermelon liquor blends too.

Coming to food — oh, what a feast we had! We started with Indonesian Sweet Corn Soup, Chicken Caesar Salad and then moved on to Mussoorie Mall Road Chinese Rolls, Dakshini Murgh Tikka and Smoked Dahi Cheddar Croquettes (these were insanely delicious!).

For mains, we kept it Indian with comforting classics like Dal On Kourse, Palak Paneer, and Tandoori Rotis. In desserts, we tried the Platter of Sin and Kesari Rasmalai – a perfect end to a memorable lunch.

Post-lunch, we relaxed in our room and later went for the Karma Experience Tour. This was one of the most delightful parts of our stay — a perfect way to understand the eco-conscious spirit of the resort.

We began by meeting farm animals — cows, goats, rabbits, and hens. My mom even made a new friend – a cute little cat who seemed to enjoy her company!

Next, we passed the Children’s Playground and Sports Junction, full of indoor and outdoor games like badminton, pickleball, table tennis, and even an Obstacle Course for adventure lovers.

We then visited the in-house Nursery and Organic Farming setup. From kitchen gardens to sustainability practices, everything here revolves around promoting green living. It was inspiring to see how thoughtfully the space has been designed.

Then came the surprise highlight — boating within the resort! Yes, we went for a short boating session surrounded by nature. Calm waters, fresh air, and great company – what more can one ask for?

As we walked back to our cottage, we clicked some beautiful pictures around the lush golf course during sunset – memories we’ll always treasure.

Dinner was at Pizza Bay, an alfresco restaurant set beside the pool with a relaxed and cozy vibe. Their brick oven pizzas are the star attraction here, and we started with the Primavera Peri Peri loaded with beans, zucchini, corn, and jalapeños – the crust was just perfect.

We also ordered Aglio Olio Peperoncino, which had the perfect garlic punch and just the right kick of chilli.

The best part about Karma Lakelands is that you can order from any of their three restaurants, no matter where you’re seated. So, we also tried some dishes from other menus – From Asian, there was Crystal Chicken & Chive Dimsums, Veg Fried Rice, and Mountain Chilli Chicken and From Indian, there was Arhar Dal Tadka, Steamed Rice, and Raita.

For dessert, we relished the creamy Kesar Pista Kulfi and fresh Belgian Chocolate Ice Cream.

And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better, the Karma Lakelands team surprised us with a midnight birthday cake in our room for my brother. A thoughtful touch that made his day extra special.

We began the next morning by soaking in the sun by the poolside. Surrounded by greenery and complete silence except for birds chirping, it was the ideal setting to unwind.

Then we headed to On Kourse for breakfast. Overlooking the beautiful golf course, the restaurant offers a buffet setup with a live dosa and chai counter. We tried Paneer Dosa from the live counter, a mix of Indian dishes like Pao Bhaji, Poha and Paratha along with Breads, fresh fruits, flavoured yoghurts, croissants, donuts, and pastries. And the highlight — a kulhad chai counter with snacks and biscuits.

Post breakfast, we visited the Seven Seas Spa for a 30-minute foot massage. The spa interiors were calm and welcoming, and the massage was extremely soothing — perfect to end our short trip on a rejuvenating note. The therapists here are trained and use a mix of traditional and modern techniques.

Karma Lakelands also has a large gym with top-end equipment and gorgeous views of the golf course for fitness lovers.

Before we left, we made a quick stop at Laughing Point, Karma’s cheerful morning ritual spot. Every day here starts with laughter — literally. It’s their way of spreading joy and setting a positive tone for the day. Such a unique and heartwarming idea!

As we packed our bags and said goodbye to Karma Lakelands, we couldn’t help but reflect on how refreshing and soul-touching the experience was. From sustainable living and delicious food to unforgettable moments with family, Karma Lakelands has created a space where luxury and nature go hand in hand.

Whether you’re planning a birthday celebration, a weekend getaway, or even a corporate retreat, Karma Lakelands is truly a hidden gem just outside Delhi. We’re already planning our next visit!
