The intoxication… the love… the nasha… and Blenders Pride brought together with none other than the gorgeous & the lovely actress Deepika Padukone and the ace fashion designer Anju Modi for the first look and launch of Bajirao Mastani’s “Deewani Mastani” song.

All of the characters in the movie Bajirao, Mastani & Kashibai are “powerful and fearless” and define the grandeur and unfold “the timeless and classic saga” with poetry and music being the main inspiration. Deewani is sensitive and emotional and at the same time strong and determined. The beautiful Marathi culture is being depicted by the iconic Sanjay Leela Bhansali beautifully and artistically be it the make up, costumes or jewellery all fine in aesthetics, royalty, ethnicity and class as the jewellery designers Shri Hari Diagems have put together the heavy pieces of royalty, finery and art.

A beautiful story of richness & aesthetic art was depicted on the ramp. All intricate details were being taken care of and sought after in the garments. The band Medieval Punditz band played live during the show with the flute and all elements of classical music with shaan-e-lehengas and the models sashaying with beautiful flowers on the head bun as a head gear and oh! so lovely intricate pieces of the majestic jewellery. The models looked elegantly dressed like queens so royal and fine with all the grandeur and the intoxication. The blues, whites, pinks, silvers, greens & goldens all the combinations looked so lovely on the stage with pink, white and silver chunars on them like veils of desires, beautiful and gracefully done and the beautiful danglers the big jhumkas looked royal and elegant (rosy fancied) they made the models look as they all walked with lots of shaan and nazakat. The pieces were done carefully with love for pastel pinks, silver and white with layering done in garments with flute playing in the background transcending one to dreamland of angels apsaras because of the beautiful poetic music and the lovely girls looking more rosy in the candescent light.

Everyone was mesmerised and intoxicated by the dreamy and beauty of different creations. I particularly loved the yellow anarkalis with chunnis really beautiful and outstanding royal plus elegance re-defined on the ramp the Bajirao Mastani style. The models wore maang tikkas and pasas, shararas with pink and white doris with beaded earrings. The clothes were stylish and classy and the make-up and hair all subtle in sync with the look.

Overall the collection was traditional, beautifully crafted and done. The whites stood out with gotta and tikka work, the white transparent look of dupattas being the veil of beauty insanely in love with the silver and golden veils. There were lots of whites, golds, pastel pinks, yellows, greens with jackets to define the feminine side, the navvy blue attires with boat necks, the empress look garments and the flower prints on the rosy materials were simple yet stylish and elegant.

Then came the bridal colours- the reds, golds, whites and velvets together with gotta ribbon and tikka very loverly and beautiful elegantly layered. Also the unique black & golden chunnar with black leaf print border was a remarkable creation and looked heavenly with the heavy and exquisite jewellery pieces. All the colours used were put together for the warm passionate winter season, the season change very evident and could be seen in the collection.

The icing on the cake Deepika Padukone entered in the end, the royal queen of Bajirao Mastani, with her song ‘Deewani Mastani’ being played in the background on the big screen behind her epitomizing her fire, love & passion… the intoxication and the fierce love potion & the nasha for her lover Bajirao in her deep brown expressive eyes..  The imperial Indian goddess and seductress of the golden screen in her at very best.

She captured all the essence and true love in her eyes & heart for the collection she walked in with all the embroidery and jewellery. Be it the blue or red say it with a lot of pride as the new bride is here to stay in all colours as her true disguise. Anju Modi came clad in blessed white and the holy light in true gold surprise, her pot of luck being Deepika… the sexy Leela or the true Deepika or the beautiful Mastani in every possible disguise this woman is here to stay.
